HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-12-14 93-47 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 93-47 Date December 14, 1992 Item/Subject: Authorizing Execution of Municipal Quitclaim Deed -- Real Estate Located at 915 Union Street (Westgate Mall) Responsible Department: Legal The purpose of this Order is to release any interest the City may have in the real estate described in the Order by virtue of an undischarged municipal tax lien on record in the Penobscot Registry of Deeds for the year 1991. Recently, the taxpayer paid off the 1991 tax lien. There still remains outstanding the 1992 tax lien and the 1993 assessment. (Note: Payment was received prior to the expiration of the redemption period; however,ischarge was not recorded. OEDEEED, TWT Sohn Quartararo, Finance Director, is hereby authorised and directed, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to execute a Municipal Quitclaim Deed, a copy of which Is on file with the City Clerk, releasing any interest the City may have in the real estate located at 915 Union Street in said Bangor by virtue of an undischarged municipal tax lien recorded against said property in the Penobscot Registry of Deeds for the year 1991. (Westgate Mall) ..................................... - Amigned to Covvcilman 93-6J The CITY OF BANGOR, a body corporate, located at Bangor, County of Penobscot, State of Maine, for consideration paid, releases to NICHOLAS L. 6 JEAN VINIOS, Trustees, N and J Westgate Trust, of Boston, State of Massachusetts, all its right, title and interest in and to certain property located in said Bangor and more particularly described as follows, Real estate located at 915 Union Street (Westgate Mall) in said Bangor, and further described in Volume 2101, Page 203, Penobscot Registry of Deeds. Being the same premises acquired by said City of Bangor (by John G. Field, Deputy Finance Director) for unpaid real estate taxes assessed for the year 1991 by virtue of an undischarged tax lien recorded in the Penobscot Registry of Deeds in Volume 4839, Page 222. The purpose of this deed is to release any interest the City may have in the above-described property by virtue of unpaid real estate taxes assessed for the tax year 1991. The said CITY OF BANGOR has caused this instrument to be sealed with its corporate seal, and signed inits corporate name by JOHN QUARTARARO, Finance Director, thereunto duly authorized, this day of December, 1992.
