8be Central Services Division, adtfch provides a variety of printing, graphics

attention a significant Pmblev ran -am ..g ore aspeot of their operation,
nmAsring of form. As detailed fn the, atwoh rtmorandmm, the Cdvfs

RE: .Justification Of Electric Nuabering Machine
We have caneannas a preblan in our divisim test requires attention As it
w
stands now, the division owns three hand nurbering machines. Tvro are worn due
to age and me will not crash doom through multipart £orae of note than two
parts. The majority of our nwbering jobs require a clear iaraessim of the
Turner through all parte which in turn requires us to individually murber each
part cr physically stanp the nuEtEsin9 machine harrier than its normal intended
These procedures presenttwoproblens. First, a job of 5,000 seta with
5 part NCM numbered ads up being a jab with 25,000,owtoors being put down.
This is a very time croswrdng procedure, for a too person division and the
repeated action causes woo physical stress upon the person doing the nanbuing.
Seomd, m two part NCM fors where crasiug through the form is possible,
u desixei results are still evident. Even though the amort of cambers will
not increase, the, person is subject to unnatural and unnecessary physical stress
causing sore ams, neck and back. This in torn is time lost fxon the job since
a rest period is required to recover.
We have sought cut alternatives to this problen such as utilizing wovlcfare hot
that las proven to be unsuccessful. The possible body injury is still present
and whth the mawal Endearing machine, narrate can be easily skipped or unclear
causing unsatisfactory work.
Taking into cesiduatim the increase of forme to be namberal, due to the
Finance Directors new policy, xo the hunkering jobs we alrealy have we an-
ticipate the mutinuatim of safety and time effhcisoy pcahlew within the
division. We have lists] out the majority of our neatening jobs on the attached
sheet to give you an idea of the secret of numbering we do within a years time.
The purchase of an autonatel table top numbering machine would eliminate these
safety a l time related problens. The machine is power driven firs a feet
penal stabling the user to crash up to six parts efficiently and with little
Effort. Since the person doing the murdering is not physically stamping the
machine and since multipart fomes can he crashed successfully we ask you to
meatier this purchase in the lopes of saving time, increasing efficiency and
reducing the possibility of physical injury.
We have gathered quotations On Various autmated umbering aamhines ad have
