Risteen Bahr, Marketing Manager.Also in attendance were Brad Moore and Art Morgan. Councilor Longa opened the meeting. Agenda: � 1. Flex jet Agreement Airport Directar Caruso discussecf that the agreement between the City of Bangor and Bam6ardier Aerospace Corporation (BAC) is a standard a9rcraft handling agreement that BAC has with other FBO's which provide service to their aircraft.The agreement stipulates Bangor A�iation Se�vices is willing and able to perform the services for BAC in accordance with this agreement. Bangar A�iation 5ervices shall pra�ide the following services, including, but nat limited to,aircraft fueling/de-fueling,ground handling,aircraft tawing/repositioning, la�atory sErvicing, deicing, ground power�nits, patable water,and aircraft marshalling. 7he initial terrr� for this agreement is twa [2)years and shall continue on a manth to month basis after the two (2)year anni�ersary. Approving this lease agre�ment wi!!strengthen our partnership and enhance our relationship with this tompany. 7his lease has been reviewed and approved by City Legal. The Airport respectfully submits this agreement for Airport Committee review and recornmends approval. Questians/Comme�ts: Councilor Gatwick questioned if t�is was a Charter to take an �assengers,Airport pirector Carusv indicated that it was not. Councilor Sp�ague motianed to appro�e and i#was seconded. 2. 7hank You Again agreement-customer layalty program Airport Director Car�so indicated that dur�ng a previous Airport Committee meeting,Airport staff presented the Airport Committee members with the concept o�de�eloping and instituting a c�stomer layalty program. Many airports nationwide�ave developed customer loyalty programs designed to make sure that frequent fliers knaw their business is�alued. City legal has reviewed and approved the agreement. The Airport respectfully submits this agreement for Airport Cammittee review and recomm�nds appro�al. Questions/Comments � � CounciEor Durgin asked about how the customers would know about the par�iciPating merchants. Airport Caruso answered that the Airport sta#F will launch the program and would ha�e a spot an the website to who is�articipaCing members. Councilor Slanchette asked if we ha�e e�er done anything like this before. Airport Marketing Directar Bahr indicated that we F�ave nat launched this program before. Councilor Blantchecte also questioned about the contract and if there is a penalty if tf�is program is not working can we cancel it. Airport Director Caruso indicated that this is a two year contract and after the two years it is a month to manth cantract. 1f we choose to terminat�the pragram there is no penalty. Co�ncilor Durgin asked i#there are any risks involved. Airport Director Caruso responded�hat the only ris�C wvuid be if we have a lack of inerthant participates. CounciEor Longo asked about the confidentiality of the program.Airport Director Caruso indicated that al!the informatian from the�ustomers is ke�t confidentiaL Motioned maved to approrre tf�e pragram. 3. Passenger Statistics far August 20�.2 Airport Director Carusa indicated that o�erall the Passer�ger numbers were up hy.9%for the manth and Year to date was up �y 11.9%. Allegiant numbers were down by 15.990 due to the ca�cellation of the FFL flight. ��erall all the numbers were good for August. 4. Airport-satellite/overFlow parking lot distussion&recommendation Airport Director Caruso operted up the discussion indicating that during the pealc period of February thru Ap�-il there is a great demand for parking capacity. A1so, during the seasons of November and Decerr�ber our parlcing demand has increased and is n�aring the current lot capacity. Last year during the peak season we had th�customers use the employee lat,we used the Go�frey Bivd,ar�d we also used some of the car r�ntal lots. We have checked aut the LL Bean parking fot and the Airport rr�all parking lot. Bu� in our researcfi �oth places wauld not let us put up fencing and also, we need security for both places. With the use of both places that would or�ly gi�e us additional 250-300 spaces and we are looking to have an additional 500 spaces. The cost for the spac� is$50 per space per month.We also Ioaked at same creative aptions such as parking on the ramp, but this idea is not feasible, nor allawab[e under current TSA regulatians. Ai�port staff indicated that the temporary parEcing lat for o�erflow should f�e the lat off of Godfrey Blvc�. This lot is already pa�ed,it is underutiEized,and it would less of a cost of rehab this area and provides safe and adequate parking far customers. We wiil do fencing and pro�ide a shelter and we would provide the customers with a shuttle.. T�e cost of this wauld be ahout$239,�OD. Questions/Comments � Councilor Blanchette wanted to make sure that there wouid �e a shelter and questianed the other areas like Airport Malf and LL Bean. Council�r Durgin asked if we coufd utilize the car rental areas and haw many tf�ey waufd have a�ailable. Airport airector Caruso indicated that we have utilized the car rentals in the past, but not enaugh space and during pealc times,they d4 not have many available. � Airport�irector Caruso also indicated that the Airpart wiH provide signs at the rotary indicating that the parking lot is fu11 and tf�e overflow paricing area is a�ailable. Cauncil made a motion to pass and seconded. Meeting Adjourned
