The following City Councilors were in attendance: Charlie Longo, Nelson �urgin, Pat Blanchette,Joseph
Baldacci,James Gallant, GeofFrey Gratwick, and Carey Weston. City Manager Cathy Conlow was also in
attendance. The foilowing City staff wa5 also in attendance, Airpart Director,Anthony Caruso and
Risteen Bahr, Marketing Manager. Councilor Longo opened the meeting.
Agenda:
1. Passenger Statistics for June 20T2
Airport Directar Carusa inditated that the numbers for June were up. The Year to Date was up
by 19%and the number for Passengers was up by 12%for tfi�e month of June. We have positive
Eoad factor and positi�e numbers.This is the be�t we ha�e been since June of 2005! We are
pleased to see the laad factar up ancf strong.
Questions/Comments:
Councilor Durgin asked abaut the discontinue of the affiliate of Delta,and if this#�ad any effect �
on Bangor. Airport Direttor Caurso indicated that if it did, it would be very minimai.
Z. Airport's ad�ertising and pu6lic relations RFP
Councilor Weston indicated that because he is part af Sutherland Weston,that there might be a conflict
of interest and asked if he should leave the room.After a discussion with the members af the
corrtmittee,Councilor Weston, left the room. Airport Marketing Director Bat�r indicated tha#they will be
going through the process of selecting an advert9sing agency and a publit relations agency o�er the next
cauple of months. In luly of 2fl09,the Airport tor�tracted with Sutherland Weston to be their Public
Relations firm and in September of 2009,Sward lick Marketing was selected as the ad►►ertising agency.
Bath companies were awarded three year cantracts with ren�wal options. In March of 20115ward lic�C
went out of bus9ness and the ad�ertising contract was assigned to Bright Matter LLC. Bright Matter was
a business started by the personnel from Swardlick that had handled�he Airport account. Renewal
options are not being exercised because of the changes in the firrr�s. The Airpnrt will issue two RFP's
again-ane for ad�ertising and one for Public Relations. This gi�es an oppflrtunity for firms 5pecializing in
one but not the other the chance to respond. As in past years we will form a selectian cammittee made
up of airport staff and others. The committee will re�iew and evafuate the respanses. It is hoped to
have both contracts awarded �n September.
Questions/Comments
Councilor Saldacci asked about what amou�t was being budgeted; Marketing pirector Bahr responded
ap�roximately$3d0,00 for ad�ertising and $10,a0 for Publit Relations. T1�ey discussed the changes in
the terminal. The RFP's were gaing ta be mailed and emailed within the state and also on the website.

3. BGR's annuaf Customer Forum hriefing
During the period of July 17-19, 2012,the Airport held its annual Custamer Forum. During this event,
airport personnel met with key customers and partners. This farum provides us the opportunity to ha�e
dedicated meetings with our lcey customers, pro�ide them with the comprehensi�e tour of our facilities
and discuss operational issues. We were able ta answer direct questians concerning pricing and Federa!
clearance issues, and continuously#allaw up with customers to secure f�ture working rejatianships.
This is something we ha�e been doing for the last four years and it is a very success�ul e�ent.
