The City Council has since determined that it would be in the best interest of Councilor Weston and the City that this issue be sent to the Board of Ethics for further consideration. The Council determined that a review by the Board of Ethics would be the best way to ensure the matter was vetted in an open, fair and neutral way. The City Council seeks a recommendation from the Board of Ethics about "whether Councilor Weston's previous failure to disclose his firm's financial interest in the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau constitutes an ethical concern requiring further action."
