This building was originally condemned and ordered to be x ved by the City Council a a hazardous structure in June, 1992, but has not been removed by the property owPursuant t0 17 MRSA S 2853, the City i v entitled to remove and to charge the costs of removal against thee property o e , by assessing a special taxagainstthe property. At its meeting onJanuary 19th, the Finance Committee recommended that the City Council transfer the necessary funds from the contingency account, and direct City staff to proceed with the removal. Street, Bangor, Maine, on a lot described in a deed recorded in Volume 3758, Page 1, Penobscot County Registry of Beeds, Owned by Gerald and Mita Talbot of Portland, Maine, constitutes a dangerous building within the meaning of said statute; and WRITERS, based upon the evidence presented at said public hearing, the Bangor City Council finds that the building or structure in question is structurally unsafe; unstable; a fire hazard; unsuitable or improper for the use or the occupancy as a residence; a hazard to health or safety because of inadequate maintenance, dilapidation, obsolescence or abandonment, and dangerous to the life and property of the inhabitants of the City of Bangor; and MBBRERS, the Bangor City Council hereby adjudges said building or structure to be a nuisance and dangerous, as provided in Title 17, M.R.S.A. 52851-2859, ROM THEREFORE, By the City Council of the City of Bangor: ORDERED, THAT said building or structure shall be disposed of as follows: (1) molished by the owners, within thirty structure shall of thedate of passage of this order, said demolition or removal be performed in conformity with the Laws and Ordinances of the City of Bangor; and.
