Under the contract that was approved by City Council, Affiliated Collections began a collection effort in
May of this year to obtain money that was owed to the Parking Fwd by people who had violated parking
ordinmmes but refused to pay their waiver fees.
Below is a breakdown of the money collected, and the amount realized by the City after paying Affiliated
Collections their commission of 30 percent. All am um have been rounded off to the nearest whole comber and
August 1994 is an estimate, since the month has not ended.
Affiliated Collations has collated approximately 48 percent of the accounts that we have sent to them.
These amounts were ones that we had been unable to collect through our promes which is about 80 percent
successful. Eighty percent is one of the highest wllection ones in the many, and Affiliated's collection rate of 48
percent is about double the national average. The combined efforts of the Parking Division and Affiliated
Collections is approximately, 90 Percent.
The $39,392 realized by the City is money that would have been written off as uncol erraWe under our
collection prods.
