Commentary: In anticipation of theaward of a grant of,
approximately
$1,490,000 ,from the Federal Aviation Administration, the Airport
Director recommends that a Capital Project be established i
accordance with City of Bangor regulations for the purpose of a
proper recording of the financial transactions involved,

ORDERED,
THAT
WHEREAS, ' the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Maine
Department of Transportation (MDOT) will fund improvement
projects for Bangor International Airport; and,
WHEREAS, Taxiway "A" of runway 15 requires reconstruction, marking and
lighting; and,
WHEREAS, improvement to the security fencing is needed; and,
WHEREAS, the Maine Air National Guard (MeANG) is willing to fund a
portion of the coat of improvements; and,
WHEREAS, the City Manager is authorized to apply for the FAA grant,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED THAT,
capital project in the Airport Fund is hereby established for
the improvements to be funded through AIP-17 in an amount of
approximately $1,490,292.50 to be funded by $1,220,883.75 FAA,
$67,826.87 RIOT, $133,755 MeANG and $67,826.88 from the City of
Bangor to be administered by the Airport Department, and,
that the Finance Director shall establish such accounts as are
necessary to properly record the transactions for this project.
