Medical DirMw Judith Young, AdminHttabor May 6, 1994 Sally Thompson Human Resources 73 Marlow Street Saugus, ME 04401 Dear Ms. Thompson: I have once again found myself in a staffing predicament. My part time, ll-] shift nurses, bath resigned at about the same time. One is. retiring and the other no longer needs to supplement her income, I have candidate that I hope to hire but she will not be available to do the jab farral weeks due to giving notice at her previous job and will need orientation time here. I have the opportunity to place an R.N. in the vacant slot, who has worked the position for me n intermittent basis is the past. She is r here for the s and is willing to fill in as I need her. However, her daughter works full time on the 7-3 shift. Since this would be truly a temporary position I would really appreciate the council waiving the nepotism rule during this period. It is extremely stressful and difficult to cake care of 61 human beings whocan not care for themselves without s the professional nursing staff being a available to fill the positions in a timely ma Overthe last few years I have lost all my older, and more loyal R.N1sr[o retirement. The younger generation coming on line do, for the most part, not intend to be around longterm and their responsibility to the job is not the same. I respectfully request permission to hire. Luca Mason, R.N., to be call" for the summer m r to fill in, situations where I do not have other R.N.'s available to do so. Sincerely, Ida Sharon Miner. R.N. SM: j eg
