In the past, this has covered approximately one-half of the
operating deficit but there may not be sufficient funds to do that
in the upcoming year.

'"'The City Manager'is hereby authorized to make application
for a one-year grant agreement with the Baine Department of
Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration, effective
mediately, for the continuing receipt of federal and state funds
to offset a portion of The Bus, operating deficit.
STATB888T OF PACTt The Federal Transit Administration and State
of Maine provide funds for the operating
deficit of The Bus. These funds amounted to
approximately $205,500 in previous years. It
is uncertain at this time as to how such money
will be available in the upcoming year.
