Re: Special Election
Datez December 6, 1994
This is a follow-up to Erik Stumpfel's recent memo regarding a
Special Council election. For illustrative purposes, I have
developed two tentative schedules for such an election. The first
is based on 90 days, the second an 120.
Sten Date Elapsed Time
90 Days 120 Dave 90 Das 120 have
Call election Dec. 12 (94) Dec. 12 (94)
Petitions Due Jan. 12 (95) Feb. 9 (95) 31 59
Election held Mar. 14 (95) Ap. 11 (95) 60 -60
In discussions with the City Clerk, he has suggested that the
election be held on a Tuesday since this is a day that people are
used to voting and that all of our standard polling places be used.
Please also note that there are o primaries this year s
there will be no June election. We would also recommend that an
election not be held on April 18th or My 30th as these are
Tuesdays after a Monday holiday.
'y in conclusion, therefore, a special Council election could be
called for anytime on or after March 14, 1995. -
