GOLF RATES
Gerry Hodge and Vinal Lobley questioned why there is an increase in golf
cart rental fees for the 1995 season. Cart rentals, for people who have
their own carts, went from $125 to $200 for the season. Dale explained
the City was now in the cart rental business and over a period of time
would be eliminating the practice of allowing private carts on the course.
Dale, however, did comment he would have no objection with the price
increase being discussed by the municipal operations committee at an
upcoming meeting. Mr. Hodge and Mr. Lobley appreciated that and will
• probably be in attendance when it is discussed.
II. SAWYER ARENA
Through the end of December, the expenditures at Sawyer were
$102,000 with revenues at $64,000. During the month of January,
expenditures were only $18,600 while revenues were at $43,000.
A carbon monoxide air quality check was performed recently at the arena
and the ice surface area came within acceptable guidelines. The locker
rooms and toilets, however, were over acceptable guidelines. The
propane heaters in those areas were cleaned and vented and since then
the air quality has improved.
III. BANGOR ARMORY RENOVATIONS
Things are moving along nicely with the renovations at the Armory. The
carpeting on the second floor has been installed. The heated
maintenance area is almost done. All that remains to be done is to paint
the walls and ceiling and install the doors. Constant work is being done
on the heating system to make it more efficient.
