Larry Willey urged the Council to defeat this proposal because he
felt that the residents of Fruit,Birch&Maple would be adversely
affected by this change.Mr. Willey praised the traffic study,and
said that he felt this was too harsh a remedy and suggested that
I
a traffic island and raised crosswalk be tried first.
Chris Largay questioned whether making this section one-way would
I actually increase traffic speed and suggested a center turn lane.
Colleen Carter questioned when Howard Street was designated as a
connector street and what effect the designation has.
i Jim Ring stated that the MDOT made the designation and it carries
the potential for funding.
