HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-08-07 Public Safety Committee Minutes1, Public Safety Committee 'l August 7, 1984 at 3:00 p.m. Minutes Present: Councilor Pd Brown, Chairman C uncilor Tom Davis Councilor Arthur Tilley John Flynn, City Haueger John Lord, City Planner Lt. Thurston, Police Department 1. Short -Term Parking at Adana-Flcke[ing/Main Street. The City Manager bad received a request by letter from Winn Stevens requesting three Parking spacesat the turner of Main and Middle Streets to The®odate customers who will be utilizing the former Sleeper's building. Committee continued the item until their next meeting as Mr. Stevens Was not present. 2. Columbia Street Parkin Deck - Request to Change Two -Four Parking to One -Pour Parking. The Committee discussed this request with Joe Paverlock who had contacted Chairman Brown by letter to request this change in the parking schedule. The Committee unanimously approved the request by Mr. Haverlock and the City Planning Officer's recommendation to change all of the two-hour parking on Columbia Street, the Seek, Cross Street, Middle Street and the High Street parking lot to one-hour parking. An appropriate Council Order will be drawn up for the August 13th Council meeting. _ 3. Waverly Restaurant. Jim and Paul Puiia were present to discuss their request for use of the B-6 parking lot on September 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for a food and beer tent. After considerable discussion, the Committee recommended approval and asked that a Council Order be drawnup by the City Solicitor authorizing this use with the stipulation that police and fire protection, Insurance and rental fee agreements he subject to the Public Safety Committee's approval. Me Pulias were asked to attend the August 13th City Council Meeting. 4. Public Safety Committee Meeting Re: Vandalism. The Committee agreed to hold a joint Public. Safety Committee and Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee meeting regarding vandalism on Friday, August 17th at 3:00 p.m. in the City Manager's Office. Committee adjourned at 4:00 p.m. V
