Councilor Edgar Brown, Chairman Councilor Tom Davis Councilor Arthur Tilley John Flynn, City Manager Lt. Thurston, Police Department 1. Waverly Restaurant Request. Paul and Jim Puiia, owners of the Waverly Restaurant, met with the Public Safety Committee again to discuss their request to operate a food and beer tent every Saturday throughout_ the'' summer in a parking lot adjacent to their restaurant. The administration has met an this matter add the City Manager indicated to the Committee that there are still some questions concerning the proposed operation. He further indicated he felt the proposal should include dates, hours and security arrangements for the operation. Councilor Davis felt the City Council should establish a policy on the use of public property prior to the Committee making a decision on this proposal. The Committee unanimously agreed to bring this before the full City Council at their informal session on Wednesday, May 30th. 2. Victor Ser i - Request for Use of Mobile Vendor's Wagon in West Mar et Square. The Committee agreed to grant this request for Mr. Sergi to operate his mobile hat dog wagon, as. he has done the past two years, in the West Marken :Square area. 3. Mrs. Esther Trask - Request for Ordinance Change to Allow Two Yard Sa rePermits Annus y. The Committee discussed with Mrs. Trask her request for two yard sale permits per year and agreed to place a Council Ordinance o the upcoming City Council agenda which would allow two permits per year. The first permit fee would be $3.00 and the second fee would be $6.00 with the stipulation that the second sale does not take place less than sixty days after the last day of the first sale. Not mare than two sales would be allowed in one calendar year. 4. All Day Parking - Downtown. The Committee had received a petition from merchants on Exchange Street complaining about one particular vehicle that is parked all day long on Exchange Street. The Committee asked the staff to look into the possibility of having graduated parking fines that increase in cost with each repeated offense and to report back to the Committee with their recommendations. Committee adjourned at 4:50 p.m. �. i2
