1. Firearms.
The Public Safety Committee conducted a public hearing o
the issue of the discharge of firearms within City limits.
Councilor Gass made a motion that would require hunters
to obtain a written permission from landowners before hunting
n the landowner's property. Councilor Brown seconded the
motion with Councilor Tilley indicating he felt there could
be problems associated with the idea. Councilor Gass also
stated that he would like to see a fine of up to $5,000
placed on violators of such a law. Councilor Gass indicated
that the issue would be discussed by the Public Safety
Committee one more time prior to a final recommendation being
made to the Council.
2. Parking in Front of Former Harlow Street School.
The Committee agreed to recommend that ten one-hour parking
spaces be made in front of the former Harlow Street School
building. A Council Order will be drawn up for the January
28th Council agenda.
