Item 41 - City Nursing Facility - Discuss Possible Leqislation
for Funding of Non -Bangor Residents. IJudy RO6Cetti
Upon recommendation from Judith Roscetti, Administrator of the
city's Nursing Facility, the Committee unanimously supports legislation
to Provide the Reasonable Costs of Wages Paid to Employees of Long
Term Care Facilities. Ms. ROscetti suggested that the area legislators
be contacted and asked to support the proposed bill.
Item $2 - Update on Proposed Installation by Military of Arrestin
Barrier on Runway. (Peter D'Errico)
The discussion concerning the construction of a BAR -14 arresting
barrier on the runway was for informational purposes. Representatives
of the Maine Air National Guard discussed the requirement to install
an arresting barrier to provide a necessary safety measure for the
F-16 aircraft which are deployed at Bangor. The construction require-
ments and tentative timing of such work was outlined and the Airport
Manager expressed concern over restrictions that would be placed on
the runway that could effect commercial users and could possibly
impact revenues from certain co)msercial heavy aircraft customers.
The Air Guard will discuss with their engineers techniques to hasten
the installation and time the construction in order to have the least
amount of impact on airport traffic. For example, to construct one
arresting barrier during the early spring of 1990 and the second
barrier in the early spring of 1991.

petition received from the developers of the proposed Essex Green
Mobilehome Park.
