Health �Wtor 1. Childheod fmunization Grant. TM Committee recomncended approval of a Council Order authorizing the City to renew an agreement with the Maine Department of Nyman Services for the MildMod Dmmmiaatim Grant. 2. Admissions Policy. last year the Committee discussed a formal change in the Nursing Facility's admissions policy basically trying to reflect the citizens of Bangor in their participation financially and the tax base of the facility and trying to project the admissions policy more on that hasis. The previous policy had been instituted mainly to generate additional revenue. The original policy stated that skilled care patients mould be admitted first irmmardless of residency and then ICF patients secoml only if beds were held open for three days and a skilled care patient eeuldn't be found. Pmscetti indicated the new policy would give eegor residents preference first on either level of care. 3. Update of Day Care Plan. Fmcetti indicated the program for adult day care has been in existence for about a year now after she fwd received approval from the Council to offer the program and las not been as successful as she bad anticipated. With no Clients on a regular basis, she has mat been able w some it financially worthwhile. The Comnittee agreed to continue the Program pending another referral for the progrmn. 4. Update on Appeal. Poswtti indicated the appeal for two years has gone into the State. Sha has been in contact with Mr. B[am who is in charge of the Portland 'Medicare office who indicated he has received rather optimistic feedback. W definite word has been reeeived yet. 5. Homeless. Btoan mentioned the increased number of the homeless in larger cities and felt Bangor should stay on top of the situation. Mrs. Chalila is on the Cnvarmnr's Task Force for Horelesscess. Committee adjourned at 6:59 p.m. when an-Bangor resident, admitted on the Skilled level of care becomes reclassified to Intermediate level of care, a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days may transpire during which a bed in another facility,which is totally licensed for intermediate care,will be sought for that patient. Patient, family and physician will be duly notified and in- volved in this process. No patient who resides at the City Nursing when this policy takes effect will themselves be affected by it.
