Executive Session - Employee Collective Bargaining Matter. Tenant Financial Matter. The Committee voted to go into Executive Session to discuss a collective bargaining matter and a tenant/financial matter. At 1 PM the Committee voted to go out of Executive Session. 2. America -To -Go Concession. Me Airport Director reported that DFI/Fenton Hill, the operator of the ^American -To -Go shop in the terminal had informed him that, as part of a national reorganization, the company had decided to request a termination of the lease at BIA and to close the shop by January 30th of 1995. The Airport Director had not taken an immediate position in the matter and had instead con- tacted a local shopkeeper to determine if there might be any interest in assuming the lease. Based on a recent solicitation for other terminal space, he did not see any immediate purpose in advertising the apace. If negotiations between DFI/Fenton and the local operator prove fruitful, he would recommend an assignment of the lease to the Airport Committee at a later time. 3. General Business Briefing. As part of the General Business Briefing, the Airport Direc- tor advised the Committee that, from an overall perspective, the airport is still on track and will generate a net income of nearly $2M. Most of this income is committed to ongoing Capital Improvement Projects. While international traffic continues to be disappointing, other areas such as General Aviation (fuel sales) and domestic (scheduled) traffic are showing solid growth. The Airport Director believes that the international traffic is bottoming out during this winter season and is likely to improve by next summer. Florida's tourism traffic is expected to begin recovering and other U.S. destinations are expected to become more aggressive marketers of their tourism attractions. The Minutes continued airport sales staff continues to pursue eastern European business potential, an effort which is now producing its first dividends. Volga Dnepr has been transiting Bangor quite regularly and has now also received cargo traffic rights for Bangor. The intent is to consolidate northeastern shipments here. (Two company repre- sentatives from Russia visited the airport an December 19, subse- quent to the Committee meeting).. The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 RM
