HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-09-27 Airport Committee MinutesAIRPORT COMMITTEE MEETING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1995 - NOON AIRPORT ADMINISTRATION OFFICE Present: Tames Tyler, Chair Don Soucy, Member Tim Woodcock, Member Ed Barrett, City Manager Bob Ziegelaar, Airport Director Norman Heitman, Assist. City Attorney The meeting was opened by the Chair at 12:15 PM. Agenda items were taken up in published sequence: 11. General Electric Sign. Upon a review of the requested sign permit by the Airport Director, the Committee voted anusly to approve the request. This action will enable G.E.tor seek final permission from Code Enforcement Office. 02. Rotary Sign. Upon a brief discussion, the Committee indi- cated it would not favor the placement of signs by social organizations in locations other than those already approved. Currently the Airport has one such location authorized along Union Street and the Committee unanimously agreed to continue the city's policy of combining all such signs in designated locations. }3. Dioramas (Resale). As s result Of the new advertising management contract with Interspace Corporation, the Airport will dispose of its currently used dioramas. Sleeper Photo of Bangor has offered the Airport a price of $75 per unit (approx. 15 units total). The Airport Director requested permission to negotiate a price of $125-150. The Airport Committee suggested $150 should be the Airport's asking price but gave the Airport Director authority to negotiate a final price. #a. Army Corps Lease Renewal. The City Solicitor indicated that the requested lease extension no longer seemed applicable as the original purpose i o longer valid. TheCommittee agreed to table this item until further information is available. Meeting adjourned at 12:35 PM.
