The mating was convened u 4:05 PM by the Chair. Agenda items were taken up as per
published agenda.
Item #1 - Executive Session/Airport Legal Issue
Item#2- Air Cargo Centers. The Airport Director presented the terms negotiated with
An Cargo Carriers, a cargo airline contracted to Fly for the U.S. Post OBia, and
requested authority to execute a lase agreement with the carrier. The Committee voted
unanimously to approve the same.
Item #3- AirportHangar/Facilities. The Airport Dirator informed the Commons that
with the lease to Air Cargo Carriers the Airport is reaching maximum capacity for its
ousting hangar facilities. As a result any significant new development activity such as new
air cargo services will likely require new oonstruction. He further briefed the Cammitta
about plans for the construction of new corporate and G.A. facilities and reported that a
second bay would likely be added for a Medical Evacuation helicopter. A third bay may
be required for General Aviation purposes, a possibility that is being studied by the
Airport. Costs ofconstruction will determine the feasibility ofthe third bay.
Item #4 - Airport Mutual Assistance, Bangor International Airport has developed the
capacity for assisting whet airports in cousin maintenance areas. It has recently been
requested to supply a quote for runway painting to another Maine airport. Prior to
responding the Airport Director indicated he would like the Committee to auNoriae off -
premise work as a matter of policy. He further indicated that this could be done profitably
and that it is an activity the airport employees take pride in. The Committee agreed that
the Airport should pursue such opportunities.
Item#5. Airport Business Briefing. Mr.Ziegelaar. briefed the Committee about ongoing
developments with regard to domestic and international traffic, including the apparent
successful efforts to attract overseas tourism traffic for Maine and promising
developments in the air cargo area
