AIRPORT COMMITTEE MEETING
A meeting of the Bangor City Council Airport Committee was
held on Wednesday, April 20, 1988 at 3:30 P.M. at the City Council
Chambers.
Present were:

Item #1 - Ground hound �Restau ant - Lease Assignment. City Solicitor,
Robert Millen, presented a map of the proposed area and gave the
Committee a brief background of this property. Mr. Miller 'stated
that this lease has been in existence since 1977; the city owns the
parking area and the Koala Inn and the Ground Round Restaurant leases
this from the city. The area is for parking purposes only as it is
within the clear zone area of the airport and contains easements and
restrictions required in this zone. Councilor Tilley made a motion
that the Committee approve this assignment; it was seconded by
Councilor Saxl and the vote was unanimous.

motor vehicle Insurance Coverages. The Airport Manager informed the
Committee of the need to update the Airport Rules and Regulations in the
area of motor vehicle insurance on the airport. He stated that he felt
that the vehicles operating on the airport should be required to have
more insurance than previously required in the ordinance. The proposed
amendment was unanimously approved by the Committee and will be placed
on the City Council agenda of May 9th.

Item k3 - (COUNCIL ORDER 88-186) Amending Chapter II, Article 35,
of the Ordinances of the City of Bangor: Airport Rules and Reculations'-
Airc7raft Fees. The he Manager is requesting an amendment to
Section 7.4 by adding the following: To the fullest extent permitted
by law, the Airport Manager or his designated representative shall
have the authority to detain any aircraft for nonpayment of such fee
or charge to the City of Bangor Airport Department. The proposed
amendment was unanimously approved by the Committee and will be placed
on the City Council agenda of May 9th.
Item 44 - (COUNCIL ORDER 88-18]) Amending. Chapter II, Article 35,
of the Ordinances of the City of Bangor: Airport Rules and Regulations -
Commercial Activities. The Airport Manager is recommending that our
rules and regulations require any person or corporation conducting a
commercial activity on the airport to provide a certificate of liability
insurance. Said certificate of insurance shall name the City as an
additional insured. The proposedamendment was unanimously approved
by the Committee and will be placed on the City Council agenda of May 9th.
