AIRPORT LgM1ITTEE MEETING 06�
MARCH 27, 1984
A meeting of the Bangor City Council Airport Committee was held On
Tuesday, March 27, 1984 at 5 P.M. at the Airport Manager A office.
Present were.
Marshall Frankel, Chairmen
Edgar Brown
Harold Wheeler
John Flynn
Edward McKeon
Peter D'Errico
Dino Levi
Item #I Economic Development Matters. Mr. McKeon, Economic Development Director,
informed the Committee that the city Is seeking release of a 3.7 ace parcel of
land on the Griffin Road presently under lease to General Electric Company.
This land is to be pan of the larger land lease to the Maine Air National
Guard Bureau. General Electric Company is requesting as an even swap, the
54,000 square foot concrete floor and foundation adjacent to Bldg. 273 which
they presently lease from us. May have expressed interest in this slab for
further company expansion. Mr. Brown made a motion to approve this request
and the vote was unanimous.
Item #2 Development Policy. Mr. McKeon is recommending that the Airport
Committee get up a meeting to review all development policies on the airport.
Item #3 Bangor International Airlines Lease Renewal. The Airport Manager had
presented this renewal request to the Committee at their last scheduled meeting
in an attempt to define whether Bangor International Airlines was, in fact, a
scheduled carrier and entitled to counter apace in the terminal building.

However. Mr. Dina Levi, President of the airlines was unable to attend
this meeting and the matter was tabled. Mr. Levi attended this meeting and
explained to the Committee big reasons why the airline is a scheduled carrier
and complies with all federal regulations pertaining to scheduled carriers.
The Committee than determined that the airline is working within the framework
of the federal law governing such activity and there was no reason to deny the
leasing of counter apace but felt that this was an administrative matter end
for the Airport Manager is proceed with negotiations. Upon renewing this
lease, the Airport Manager felt that in the future, the minimum standards
should be more stringent Nan the federal requirements in order not to mislead
the public.
