HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-08-02 Airport Committee MinutesAIRPORT COMMITTEE MEETING AIRPORT MANAGER'S CONFERENCE ROOM MONDAY, AUGUST 2, 1993 - 7:30 AM Present: William Shubert, Chairperson Richard Stone, Member William Cohen, Member Edward Barrett, City Manager Bob Ziegelaar, Airport Director David Pellegrino, Purchasing Agent Steve Bolduc, Economic Development The meeting opened at 7:35 AM with the sequence of items dis- cussed as indicated below: 2. Jobs Bond Project. The resolve for an appropriation for additional work to be completed in conjunction with the Jobs Bond Project around Bldgs. 096, 97, and 121 w unanimously endorsed by the Committee, with the provisiothat work related to Bldg. 97 should not exceed 10% of the total value of the project (as proposed by Richard Stone), i of the fact that this building i not currently occupied. If this cannot be accomplished, Steve Bolduc is to report at the next Finance or Airport Committee meeting to re -open the matter for further discussion. 1. Airport Construction/Legal Matter. The Chair authorized the Committee to go into Executive Session for the purpose of a discussion of legal matters relating to the airport's terminal construction project. 3. Airport Security Position. The Committee voted to table the Airport Director's proposal to convert the airport's Traffic Warden position (Security Officer) into a full-time position, in order to allow the Director to study the overall status of p/t employee compensation. 4. Telford/Repair Station/Parts Inventory. The Committee authorized the Airport Director to conclude an agreement with Telford Aviation to dispose of certain aircraft Minutes continued parts and tools which have become surplus to the Airport Department as a result of the closing of the Repair Station. The current inventory is booked at $80,000 to $90,000 in value and the Committee voted to authorize the Director to accept an offer between $40,000 to $48,000, or approximately 50 cents "on the dollar". 5. 25th Anniversary/Terminal Opening. The Airport Director neat briefed the Committee about the plans for the 25th Anniversary of the airport ascivilian airport, a well as the official opening of the newterminal areas. The event is scheduled for August 20th, and will call for $3,000 to $5,000 in expenditures. 6. Airport Seating. The Committee voted to authorize an expenditure of $40,000 to purchase seating for the new terminal areas, as recommended by the Airport Director and Purchasing Agent.
