PUBLIC HEARINGS
Item No. 1 20 Broad Street – The Charles Inn
To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review
approval to install a wall sign.
Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted / denied by a vote
of 5 to 0.
Item No. 2 26 - 28 Main Street – Stephen Smith
To consider a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review
approval to replace existing double hung sash and balances with wood clad
replacement windows and replace a door on the Broad Street side of the building.
Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval
granted / denied by a vote of 5 to 0 with conditions that the applicant exclude the
replacement of the large window at this time and come back at a later date for
approval and to replace the door on Broad Street with one matching or similar to
the front door of 28 Main Street (the entrance to the Law Offices of Stephen C.
Smith, P.A.)

Item No. 3 99 Franklin Street – Sign Services for Bangor Savings Bank
Tabled from the June 12, 2003 meeting. To consider a request for Design Review
approval to install exterior lighting for three wall signs on the fourth floor of the
building.
Action Take: Application for Design Review approval tabled until next month.
The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, August 14, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
