HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-02-20 Planning Board Minutes PLANNING BOARD OF THE CITY OF BANGOR MEETING OF FEBRUARY 20, 1996 MINUTES Board Members Present: Moshe Myerowitz, Chairman Mary Ann Bostwick George Burgoyne Scott Hall Carol Woodcock City Staff Present: John Lord Media Present: None Chairman Myerowitz called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In the absence of Board Members Drummond and MacArthur, Associate Members Bostwick and Woodcock voted. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Item No. 1: Planning Board Approval of Minutes of January 16, 1996 Meeting. By a vote of 4 to 0, the minutes of the January 16, 1996 Planning Board Meeting were approved as printed. NEW BUSINESS Item No. 2: Site Development Plan Revision approval to extend the completion date for construction of a 1,536 sq. ft. building located at 260 Hogan Road in a General Commercial and Service District. Atlantic Investments, applicant. Planning Officer Lord told the Board that the applicant had requested this extension because they were unable to complete this project by the approved completion date due to delays caused by weather. He noted that the applicant was well within the two-year requirement for completion under the Land Development Code and Staff recommended approval. Mrs. Woodcock moved to approve the completion date extension request. Mrs. Bostwick seconded the motion. The motion carried by a vote of 4 to 0. Item No. 3: Planning Board Discussion of State Street Corridor and Neighborhood Service District zoning. Planning Officer Lord gave a presentation on the State Street Corridor and discussed Neighborhood Service District zoning with the Board. He discussed trends in land use in this area as well as how the area's zoning had changed over time. He also, explained the provisions of the Neighborhood Service District and predecessor zoning districts in former ordinances. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS Item No. 4 Planning Board Review of Correspondence and Other Communications From the Planning Office. Planning Officer Lord noted that the Planning Office had received a copy of a request for a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy at 165 Longview Drive (State Farm Insurance). There being no further items for discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 8:29 p.m.
