3. ARTober Planning
Discussion re: bringing on Launchpad as a planning/production/fiscal partner. Josh Gass,
board chair of Launchpad, spoke to Commission re: Launchpad’s mission and potential
involvement with ARTober, looking at the month-long fest from a sustainability
perspective and a steering committee to look at its future arc.
Audience member Councilor Gibran Graham on hand to ask about ARTober budget and
needs in general. Piccininni: budget talks and general needs discussed at past CCD
meetings, available on video. Budget for ARTober in C&ED office w/ city staff liaison.
Reminder that CCD does not make its own decisions all the time, only
recommendations; a lot of things need to go before BED committee (and sometimes,
City Council).
Audience member Sandy Fortin from non-profit Green Gem Holistic Healing Oasis (and
BRLI alum) interested in being involved, reminder that there are places like hers outside
of Downtown that would like to be involved.

Young motioned, Burnham seconded, unanimous vote. CCD will draft memo to
distribute to staff and various committees.
