HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-01-08 96-78 ORDINANCECOUNCIL ACTION Item No. _ 96-78 Date January S. 1996 Item/Subject Amending Chapter VII of the Law$ and Ordinances of the City of Bangor -- Paid Sexual Contact Responsible Department, Legal Concern has been expressed recently that language in Section 2.4 of the City's 'paid sexual contact" ordinance may make private landlords in Bangor liable for civil fines based on tenants' conduct of which the landlord has no knowledge. A secondary concern is that as other communities adapt similar ordinances, landlords in other towns will become similarly exposed. The Municipal Operations Committee met on December 5, 1995 and voted to forward this amendment to the full Council for consideration.
