Funding for these items was not included in the annual appropriation but is available through Federal grant money administered by the Maine Department of Transportation, supplemented by The Bus Capital Reserve account and the Motor Pool operating account. The MDOT has verbally approved the purchase of these items on the basis of 808 Federalfunding (grants). and 208 local funding. Items involving training will be paid for by 1008 Federal funding. The list includes 2 engines, fax machine, pressure washer, VCR camera and 35mm camera, Bu§`,�Sheiter (Hampden) and ticket shredder. The total appropriation requested is $23,900 from the following sources: $19,360 Federal grants) $3,210 Bus Capital Reserve; and $1,290 Motor Pool Operating Bu/dg/et. BEBOLVBD, WHEREAS, The Bus is in need Of several capital items; and WHEREAS, funding for the purchase of these Stems was not included within the annual appropriation resolve but is available through federal funds administered by the Maine Department of Transportation, The Bus Reserve account, and the Motor Pool operating budget on the basis of 808 Federal share and 208 local share; and WHEREAS, the Maine Department of Transportation has approved the use of these funds for these purchases, and the local share is available through The Bus Capital Reserve account and the Motor Pool operating budget; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: a supplemental appropriation of $23,900 is hereby approved for the purchase of two remanufactured engines, a fax machine, a pressure washer, VCR and camera, bus shelter, and shredder. The Federal share of $19,360, the local share of $3,250, and the Motor Pool share of $1,290 shall be funded from sources listed on the accompanying proposed Capital Purchase Listing -The Bus; and BE IT FURTHER ORDERED, THAT: the Finance Director shall establish such accounts as are required to properly record the transactions for these purchases. CITY CLERK IF CITY COUNCIL January 22. 1996 CITY CLRRR 96-77 1. Bagine - The Bus currently operates six buses with 3208 Caterpillar engines. One of the engines would be used to replace anengine that is weak. The second engine will be placed in stock as a spare engine. 3. Pas Machine - The Motor Pool and Bus Division utilizes the Fax Machine on a regularly at City Hall. The process that is currently used i not time effective or efficient. It can take up to twenty four hours to retrieve the message. The Motor Pool will put a split -line on one of their existing lines to accommodate the machine. 3. Pressure Washer - The existing pressure washer is twelve years old and has outlived its normal life. This machine is used daily and needs to be reliable. d. VCR camera - The cameras primary use will be for making safety and training demo tapes. The Department of Transportation encourages this use and will authorize 100% reimbursement for this purchase S. Bus Shelter - The Town of Hampden has requested a Bus Shelter to be placed on its route. They will assume all costs incurred. 6. Shredder - The Bus office receives 3,500 bus tickets weekly and does not have a secure method to dispose of them.
