Sec. 20.2 - 20.6
Multiple Containers: Multiple containers may be used,
provided that recyclables are not comingled in any one
container. Construction requirements shall be as described
for Single Containers with the following exceptions:
a) Maximum rated volume: 12 gallons
b) Minimum rated weight capacity: 30 pounds
c) Maximum height: 12 inches
20.3 Free Collection. Aecyclables shall be collected at no
charge.
***20.4 Bandling. Recyclables must be separated .and placed in
contain . Newspaper must be tied in bundles g stacks
not to exceed 12 inches in height and may be placed on top
of recycling container. Newspaper should not be placed
outside when precipitation is falling or predicted or
anticipated. Cardboard boxes must be broken down or
flattened to a size no larger than 2 feet by 3 feet and
placed beside or under the recycling container. The total
eight of any recycling container, excluding newspaper and
cardboard shall not exceed 30 pounds.
**20.5 Property Rights. Any and all acceptable recyclable
materials placed at the curb become the sole property of
the City or its designated agent.
Recycling Advieory Committee A Recycling Advisory
Committee shall c ist of seven O) members. One of the
members shall be anCouncilor who is appointed annually by
the Council Chairperson. The remaining six (6) members
shall be appointed by the City Council -from the public -
at -large. initial appointments of public members shall
consist of 2 members for a one (1) year term, 2 members
for a two (2) year term, and 2 members for a three (3)
year term. All appointments thereafter shall be for terms
of three (3) years. No appointed member shall serve more
than two )2) consecutive three (3) year terms. All
appointed public members must be residents of the City of
Bangor with strong interest in, and support of the City's
Recycling Program. The City Engineer, the Director of
Operations and Maintenance, and a representative from the
School Department shall serve as ex -officio members. The
Recycling Advisory Committee shall ,at on a regular basis
and at least bimonthly to provide ongoing review and
evaluation of the City's Recycling proo9j9jram, including
