Bs k oMuined dY w Ltiro Gaumdt ojw cro o£Banea, as lollome: WHEREAS, Solid wane collection and disposal has become increasingly more complex and costly; aM WHEREAS, Recycling is an effective means of reducing solid wane generation and disposal; and WHEREAS, The City of Bangor has operated a successful Recycling Program for several years and WHEREAS, The success of the Recycling Program is due to the combined efforts and support of the City Council, City Stag and Bangor Residents; and WHEREAS, Formed esmbhshmem of a Recycling Advisory Committee will help assure continued success ofthe City§ Recycling Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE ff OROA BY THE CITY C0I1NCH, OF THE CITY OF BANOOR, THAT: Chapter V, Article I of the Laws and Ordinances of the City of Bangor Section 20 - Rerycling is hereby amended to establish a Recycling Advisory Committee by the addition oftbefollowing: 20.6 Reevclioe Advuory Committee A Recycling Advisory Comnddee shall consist of seven (7) members. One of the members shall be a Councilor who is appointed annually by the Council Chairperson. The remaining six(6) members shall be appointed by the City Council Rater the public -at -Inge. Initial appointments of public members shall consist oft members for a rove (1) year term, 2 members for a rwo (2) year term, and Me members for a three (3) year term. All appointments thereafter shall be for terms of those (3) years. No appointed member shall serve more [haat Me (2) consecutive three (3) year terms. All appointed public members must be residents of the City of Bangor wiN among interest 4 and support of the City's Recycling Program. The City Engineer, the Director of Operations and Maintenance, and a representative from the School Department shall serve as exaBruo members.
