In 1946 the City was deeded a right of way for the
establishment of Meadowbrook Road. The City did not lay out and
establish all of Meadowbrook Road. That portion of Meadbrook Road
which is over
r property of Larry K. Mahaney has never � been
established and the City has n need now for it. Misr. Mahaney, has
requested that the City release its interest in the property. 23
M.R.S.A. 4 3028 provides that town ways which have not been kept
passable for 30 years at municipal expense are deemed abandoned.
The Finance Committee has approved the request.

ORDERED,
THAT
WHEREAS, a 50 foot right-of-way was deeded to the City of Bangor by
deed dated August 12, 1946 and recorded in Penobscot County
Registry of Deeds in volume 1254, Page 31B; and
WHEREAS, a portion of said right-of-way was never established by
the City of Bangor; and
WHEREAS, the land over which said portion of the right-of-way.
Passes is owned by one property owner who has requested that the
City of Bangor release any interest it may have in said portion of
the right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, 23 M.R.S.A. 5 3028 provides that town ways which have not
been kept passable for use of motor vehicles at the expense of the
municipality for a period of 30 years are deemed discontinued,
. NOW, THEREFORE, by the City Council of the City of Bangor:
ORDERED,
THAT Edward A. Barrett, City Manager, is hereby authorized and
directed, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to execute a Municipal
Quitclaim Deed, conveying its interest in certain property located
on Mount Hope Avenue to the property owner_- Said deed shall be in
a form substantially attached hereto.

MDNICIPAL QUITCLAIM DEED
The CITY OF BANGOR, a municipal corporation organized and
existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Maine,
located in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantor, for
consideration paid, releases to LARRY E. MARANEY, of Bangor, County
of Penobscot and State of Maine, as Grantee, the real estate
located in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, more particularly
described as follows:
That portion of premises described in deed of
Reginald W. Mangler t0 the City of Bangor dated
August 12, 1946 and recorded in Penobscot County
Registry of Deeds in volume 1254, Page 310 which
lies northerly of the most southerly boundary of
land of Grantee as described in deed of Louise P.
Mahaney to Larry R. Mahaney dated June 11, 1982
and recorded in Penobscot County Registry of Deeds
in volume 3292, Page 15.
The premises described herein were conveyed to the City of
Bangor by said Reginald W. Mangler in 1946 as and for a public
street. Said street not having been kept open for passage by motor
vehicles at municipal expense for a period of more than thirty (30)
years next preceding the date of this instrument, the premises have
been deemed abandoned for use
as a public street or way pursuant to
23 M.R.S.A. g 3028. This deed is given for the purpose of releasing
all right, title and interest, if any, of the City of Bangor in and
to the described premises arising by virtue of the prior dedication
and acceptance as a public street.
The said CITY OF BANGOR has caused this instrument to be
sealed with its corporate seal, and signed in its corporate name by
EDWARD A. BARRETT, City Manager, thereunto duly authorized, this
day of , 1996.
