Amending Chapter 268, Stormwater, of the Code of the City of Bangor, By Amending the Due Date for
Stormwater Management Certifications
Summary
This ordinance would amend the date by which a person must certify that required stormwater management
structures have been inspected.
As part of our duties under our Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System permit, we require property owners
with stormwater management structures to inspect those structures annually and perform any required
maintenance. At present, the due date for inspection certifications is October 31; however, this leaves little
time for the City and the property owner to correct any deficiencies before cold and snow make further work
difficult.
This ordinance would change the certification due date to July 31. This will provide enough time in the spring
and summer for inspections to be done, but also allow for correction of any deficiencies in a reasonable period
of time.
