Real estate taxes for the years 1976 and 1980 were paid by the
taxpayer after the redemption period of the lien expired. At the
time the taxes were paid, a release deed was not issued by the City
Treasurer's office apparently because the administrative quitclaim
fee had not been paid.
We have been contacted by a local attorney advising us of a closing
on the land located on Burleigh Road. The administrative quitclaim
fee will be paid prior to recording the deed once approved by the
Council. The tax account is otherwise current.

authorized, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to execute a Municipal
Quitclaim Deed releasing any interest the City may Have in the real
estate. located at 300 Burleigh Road in said Bangor by virtue Of
undischarged municipal. real estate tax liens recorded in the
Penobscot Registry of Deeds. Said deed shall be directed to Edward
S. McClure.

MUNICIPAL QUITCLAIM DEED
The CITY OF BANGOR, a municipal corporation located in
Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantor, for consideration
paid, releases to EDWARD S. MCCLURE of Lewiston, Androscoggin
County, Maine, as Grantee, all right, title and interest of the
Grantor in and to the land located in Bangor, Penobscot County,
Maine, more particularly described as follows:
Real estate located on the north aide of
Burleigh Road in
said Bangor and described in
volume 2178, Page 442, Penobscot Registry of
Deeds. Designated as City Real Estate Account
Number 77728, Assessor's Map R39, Lot 5.
Being the same premises acquired by said City of
Bangor (by John G. Field, Collector of Taxes)
for unpaid taxes assessed for tax years 1976 and
1980 by virtue of undischarged tax liens
recorded in the Penobscot Registry of Deeds in
Volume 2745, Page 96 and Volume 3184, Page 136.
The purpose of this deed is to release any interest the
City may have in the above described property by virtue of unpaid
taxes assessed for the tax years 1976 and 1980. All public
easements or other public interests in the described premises for
roads, sewers, or other purposes are expressly reserved.
The said CITY OF BANGOR has caused this instrument to be
sealed with itscorporate seal, and signed in its corporate name by
RONALD I. HELLER, Finance Director, thereunto duly authorized, this
