The structure, at 51 Seventh Street, was transferred to Mr.
Benjamin Fairbrother by the G.G. Graham Trust, on or after the date
which the tax liens matured. The building was placarded for over a
year prior to Mr. Fairbrother taking title. The building is
dilapidated, obsolete, structurally unsound and a fire hazard. Mr.
Fairbrother has been living in Levan[ since November.

ORDERED.
THAT wBEREAS, the Bangor City Council, in its capacity as
the Municipal Officers of the City of Bangor, held a public
hearing pursuant to 17 M.R.S.A. 62851-2859 to determine whether
or not the structure located at 51 Seventh Street, Bangor,
Maine, on a lot described in a deed recorded in volume 5799,
Page 276, Penobscot County Registry of Deeds, owned by Benjamin
Pairbrother, of Bangor, Mine, constitutes a dangerous building
within the meaning Of said statute; and
WHEREAS, based upon the evidence presented at said
public hearing, the Bangor City Council finds that the building
or structure in question is structurally unsafe; unstable; a
fire hazard; unsuitable or improper for the use or the
occupancy as
aresidence; a hazard to health o safety because
of inadequatemainteronce, dilapidation, obsolescence o
abandonment, and dangerous to the life and property of the
inhabitants of the City of Bangor; and
WHEREAS, the Bangor City Council hereby adjudges said
building or structure to be a nuisance and dangerous, as
provided in Title 17 M.R.S.A.-82851-2859,
NOW THEREFORE, by the City Council Of the City of
Bangor;
ORDERED, THAT said building or structure shall be
disposed of as follows:
(1) Said building or structure shall be demolished by the
within thirty (30) days Of the date of passage
of this Order, said demolition or removal be performed
ofconformity with the Laws and Ordinances of the City
Bangor; and
(2) In the event said structure is not demolished o
moved within thirty (30) days as provided above, the
City's Code Enforcement Officer may canoe Said
building or structure to be demolished or removed, all

expenses incurred thereby to be paid by the owner(g)
or assessed against the property in accordance with 17
N.R.S.A. 62853; and
(3) The owner(s) of said structure shall remove
all
personal property located therein. In the event that
the owner(s) fail to comply with this order, the
City's Code Enforcement Officer may remove and dispose
of said personal property.

representative, is hereby authorized to take any and all
additional necessary action to secure the demolition or rival
of said structure.

still be held in the Council Chambers of Bangor Oly Ball, 72 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine.
The purpose of this public hearing is to take tadimony and decide whether to commitment the
building or structure located at 51 Seventh Sued, Bangor, as a dangerous building pursuant to
Title 17, Sections 2851 through 2859, of the Maine Revised Statutes Annotated.

This memo is a response on yew request to the Fan Department fox our concems
conceming the potential for fire at this structure and the (longer to neighboring
properties. This building is curzently vacant and placaMM. Ourblggest concern
would be vandals gaining entry end starling a Ew at this structure. As you tmow, this
has been a problem in Bangor in me past. Alarge fire at this building could peon
threat in nearby residences.
h, addition, fires m placmded vacant buildings may be more hazardous to
frefighrow then other types of structures due to damage caused by vandahs inside the
building.
