COUNCILOR Called to Order at 7:30 p.m. Chaired by Council Chair Hawes Councilors Present: All Adjourned at: 9:30 p.m. Councilor Durgin introduced Mary Prybylo, the CEO of St. Joseph’s hospital. PUBLIC COMMENT: Mr. Joe Baldacci, 242 Cedar Street, expressed his concern Over the potential closure of the Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center and urged the Councilors and other city officials to attend a public comment session on Friday, th October 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. Ms. Linda Abernathe, Superintendent of the Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center, gave An overview to the council explaining that a working group has been created to Develop a plan for the future of the Center. The working group has scheduled a meeting to gather public comment for Friday at 9 am at the Center. Comments can be submitted in person or in writing by mail or email. Mr. James Gallant, Candidate for City Council, explained that he had been Originally told that his large campaign signs needed a disclosure statement, But the City Clerk had discovered that handmade signs did not require the Statement; however, he had decided to put the statement on all of his signs. Ms. Pat Stevens of 251 Nowell Road urged council support. Mr. David Lawler of Bangor said he felt that he didn’t Want Bangor residents to have to go to other towns to Purchase fireworks.
