Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review Approval granted / denied by a vote of 5 to 0. Item No. 2 28 Main Street – Stephen C. Smith To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval for the construction of deck on top of the fifth floor of the building and to scrape the paint off the granite lintels. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval for the construction of the deck granted / denied by a vote of 5 to 0. The approval includes the installation of a gate in the railing to access garden and other roof areas. Action on the scraping of the paint off the granite lintels was not taken. The applicant will include this proposal in a future application. Item No. 3 183 Main Street – House Revivers To consider a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a connector between Merrill Merchants (201 Main Street) and the Penobscot Theatre (183 Main Street) and add a dormer to the rear of the building Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted / denied by a vote of 5 to 0. Specifics of design details will be reviewed and approved by the Commission at a later date. The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber.
