HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-11-10 Historic Preservation Commission Minutes HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Minutes of November 10, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Third Floor Council Chambers MINUTES Commission Members Present: Paul Pasquine Sara Martin Charles Boothby Wayne Mallar Roch LeBlanc Associate Members Present: Jeff Barnes City Staff Present: Jeremy Martin Historical Consultant Present: Bob Kelly PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. 174 Main Street – Bangor House Proprietary To consider a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to fabricate and install a canopy roof over the concrete slab in the corner of the courtyard (approximately 20’ x 6’.) Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 2. 40 High Street – Anastasia International To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness to remove a small slope in the roof and replace it with a small dormer. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0 3. 212 Kenduskeag Avenue – James and Ellen Tobin To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to install Harvey Tru- Channel storm windows on second floor windows.. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 4. Main Street Historic District To formally request the City’s chief elected official to formally request the National Park Service (NPS) to certify the Main Street Historic District. Certification of the District by the NPS would enable eligibility for federal tax credits. The district must be certified by the NPS, before a property can become a “certified historic structure” eligible for federal historic rehabilitation tax credits. Action Taken: Unanimous vote of 5 to 0 in favor of this recommendation and request. The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, December 14, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in the third floor Council Chambers.
