Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 2. 163 Broadway – Jennifer Bailey and Travis LaCombe To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to replace an existing wooden fence with new wooden picket fence and add a new section of fence. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 3. 28 High Street – Hammond Street Congregational Church To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to replace an existing freestanding sign. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted by a vote of 4 to 1. 4. Between Kenduskeag Stream and Building at State Street Bridge – Charles O. Howard Memorial Foundation To consider a request for Design Review approval to erect a granite bench and planter with three foot walkway and plantings as a memorial to Charlie Howard. Action Taken: Design Review approval granted by vote of 5 to 0. 5. 9 Central Street – Smith Law Offices To consider a request for Design Review approval to install signs and replace windows. Action Taken: The application was modified to include the replacement of windows only. The proposal for the installation of the signs was withdrawn by the applicant, who will work with City Staff to revise signage to be reviewed at an upcoming meeting. Action Taken – Design Review approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 6. 56 West Broadway – James and Sharon McCarthy To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval for renovations to include changing a portion of the existing roof to a gable roof to match the main structure. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 7. 48 Penobscot Street – House Revivers To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to remove old storm windows and replace with black Harvey Truchannel storm windows. All storm windows are to be replaced on the Pine Street and driveway side of the house. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 8. 131 Main Street – House Revivers To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval for revision of previous application for changes to windows on second and third stories. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted by a vote of 5 to 0. The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the third floor Council Chambers.
