PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. 96 Harlow Street – B & L Properties
To consider a request for Design Review approval to repair the first floor overhang.
Action Taken: Design Review approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0.
2. 51 Thomas Hill Road - Matthew Bourassa
To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to install a 6’ 9G black
coated chain link fence on the north and west perimeters of the property.
Action Taken: Concern was raised over the compatibility of the proposed chain link
fence on the Bangor Water District side of the property. This portion of the application
was removed from the proposal by the applicant and Certificate of Appropriateness
approval was granted by a vote of 5 to 0 to install the chain link fence along the rear
property line.
3. 77-79 Broadway – Richard Mazzei
To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness for repair of damaged slate
roofing; fascia and soffits; damaged brick walls; new business signs; new awnings
Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0. The
application was amended to include a fourth floor window replacement of a window
facing the Deighan property. The window is to be a black aluminum clad wood window
with no change in the size of the opening. The approval requires the applicant to notify
the Code Enforcement Office when the work is finished in order for staff to verify
compliance with the approval.
4. 48 Penobscot Street – House Revivers
To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness approval to remove old storm
windows and replace with Harvey Tru-channel black storm windows. These are the
windows facing Penobscot Street.
Action Taken: Application tabled by applicant to next month
DISCUSSION ITEM
1. Sarah Martin discussed the historic preservation brochure and training workshops.
2. Jeremy Martin discussed recent enforcement activities.
