Martin City Staff Present: Jeremy Martin Jennifer Boothroyd PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. 14 State Street – Jane Bragg (Thomas School of Dance) To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval to replace rear loading door with steel door, and to reconsider the decision of new infrastructure for awning. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 2. 2 Hammond Street – Hammond Street Senior Center To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval to install a projecting sign. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 3. 89 Main Street – Abe Furth To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval to replace six (6) windows facing Main Street, replace three (3) windows facing alley; replace gravel roof with insulated rubber roof; replace rusty, broken flashing with copper flashing. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review granted by a vote of 5 to 0, with the condition that the applicant provide the Code Enforcement Office with a revised drawing of the rear widow with vent.. 4. 186 Exchange Street – Triathlete Sports To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review approval to install fixed awnings with signage and replace purple panels with raised panels painted to match pillars. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness and Design Review granted by a vote of 5 to 0. 5. 159 Union Street – Bangor Museum and History Center To consider a request for Certificate of Appropriateness to install up to twelve (12) 4 ½” x 8 ¾” x 9 ½” security lights under porch edge on three (3) sides of the Hill House. Not visible from the street or sidewalk generally. Action Taken: Certificate of Appropriateness granted by a vote of 5 to 0, with the condition that the new fixtures be painted whit to match. The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the third floor Council Chambers.
