Oafl: October 15 1997
Iter No. 97-413
Item/Subject: Amending Policies and Procedures Pursuant to Parking Ordinance
- Resident Parking by Permit Only (Chapter III, Article 6,
Section 4.7)
Besponsible Department: Community and Economic Development
Commentary:
This order would delete the Sunset Provision of the Resident Parking by
Permit Only section of the Parking Ordinance (Chapter III, Article 6, Section
4.7), adopted by passage of Ordinance 96-408 on November 13, 1996. The
Resident Parking by Permit Only section of the Parking Ordinance will lapse
n November 1, 1997 unless the November 1, 1997 date is extended by Ordinance
amendment 9I the sunset provision is -deleted by Ordinance amendment. The
attached amendment would delete the sunset provision thus extending the
Ordinance indefinitely. The Section 23 referred to in the Sunset Provision
of the Ordinance contains Schedule XV listing the locations were the Resident
Parking by Permit Only applies. This Schedule would remain in the Ordinance
if this amendment is passed thereby continuing the restrictions on the
sections of Grant and Montgomery Streets presently affected.
This proposed Ordinance amendment will be reviewed by the Community and
Economic Development Committee at its meeting at 5:00 P.M. on October 22 and
will have its second reading by the council at its meeting at 7:30 P.M. o
October 27.
