On July 30th of this year the Treatment Plant received full payment
of outstanding sewer charges against property located at 124 Birch
Street owned by Arthur C. Thompson, Jr. The liens were, recorded i
June 1994. Because these liens have matured, a municipal quitclaim
deed is necessary to release the City's interest.
The Finance Committee recommended approval at its meeting held on
September 15th.

authorized, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to execute a Municipal
Quitclaim Deed releasing any interest the City may have in the real
estate located at 124 Birch Street in said Bangor by virtue of
matured municipal sewer charge liens recorded in Book 5642, Pages
340, 341
and 342, Penobscot Registry
of
Deeds.

The CITY OF BANGOR, a municipal corporation located in
Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantor, for consideration
paid, releases to ARTHUR C. THOMPSON, OR., of Fairfield, Somerset
County, Maine, as Grantee, Property situate in said Bangor,
Penobscot County, Maine, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an
iron bolt driven into the ground
in the northerly line of a lot of land now o
formerly owned or occupied by M. S. Luosey at a
point sixty-eight and thirty-six one hundredths
(68.36) feet westerly of the westerly line of
Birch Street, measured on said line of said
Luosey land;, thence westerly on and by said line
of said Luosey land, sixty-three and sixty-four
one hundredths (63.64) feet to a mark on the
cement concrete foundation of a fence post in
the division line between the Maple Street and
the Birch Street lots; thence northerly on and
by said division line, sixty (60) feet to an
iron bolt driven into the ground at the
southwesterly corner of a lot of land now or
formerly owned or occupied by Almira McLeod;
thence easterly on and by the southerly line of
said McLeod land, forty-eight and twenty-six one
hundredths (48.26) feet to an iron bolt driven
into the ground; thence southerly on and by a
line which is sixteen (16) feet westerly of and
parallel with the westerly end of the house
standing on the premises next easterly of and
adjoining the herein -described premises,
twenty-three (23) feet to an iron bolt driven
into the ground; thence southeasterly thirty-one
and twenty-two one hundredths (31.22) feet to a
point ten (10) feet from the point of beginning;
thence southerly ten (10) feet to the point of
beginning.
Also granting to the grantee, his heirs and
assigns, the right to use in Common with Eastern
Trust and Banking Company, its successors and
assigns, as a passageway for foot passengers and
vehicles, a strip of land ten (10) feet in width
lying northerly of and adjoining the southerly
line of the premises lying easterly of and
adjoining the herein -described premises and
running sixty-eight and thirty-six hundredths
(68.36) feet westerly from the westerly line of
Birch Street.

Being the same premises described in a Quit -
Claim Beed from Frank Harry Hartley to the
Grantee herein, dated Sure 7, 1984, and recorded
in Book 3532, Page 122, Penobscot Registry of
Deeds.
Any and all other rights, easements, privileges
and appurtenances belonging to the granted
estate are hereby conveyed.
The purpose of this deed is to release to the Grantee any
interest the Grantor may have in the above-described Property by
virtue of unpaid sewer charge liens recorded in Book 5642, Pages
340, 341 and 342, Penobscot Registry of Deeds. All public
easements or other public interests in the described premises for
roads, sewers, or other purposes are expressly reserved.
The said CITY OF BANGOR has caused this instrument to be
Baled with its corporate seal, and signed in its corporate name by
RONALD I. HELLER, Finance Director, thereunto duly authorized, this
day of September, 1997.
