HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-08-11 97-345 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 97-345 Date August 11, 1997 Item/Subject: Authorizing Execution of Municipal Quitclaim Deed -- Real Estate Located at 37 Judson Boulevard Responsible Department: Legal Commentary: The Treasurer's office recently informed us that real estate taxes assessed against real estate located at 37 Judson Boulevard for the year 1994 had been paid in January, 1996, together with the administrative quitclaim fee. However, a quitclaim deed had never been prepared and recorded. Since that time the 1995 and 1996 real estate taxes have been paid and properly discharged. This Order would authorize the release of the City's interest in the property. Heller, Finance Director is hereby THAT authorized, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to execute a Municipal Quitclaim Deed releasing any interest the City may have in the real estate located at 37 Judson Boulevard in said Bangor by virtue of a undischarged real estate tax lien recorded in Penobscot County Registry of Deeds in Book 5662, Page 96. Councilman 92-345 MUNICIPAL OUITCLAIM DEED The CITY OF BANGOR, a body corporate, located in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, for consideration paid, releases to RONALD E. & THERESA A. SHERWOOD, both of Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, the property located in said Bangor and more particularly described as follows: Real estate located at 37 Judson Boulevard in said Bangor, and further described in Volume 4474, Page 271, Penobscot Registry of Deeds. This property is further designated a real estate account number 86745, Assessor's Map 62, Lot 39. Being the same premises acquired by said City of Bangor for unpaid taxes assessed for tax year 1994 by virtue of an undischarged tax lien recorded in the Penobscot Registry of Deeds in Book 5662, Page 96. The purpose of this deed is to release any interest the City may have in the above-described property by virtue of unpaid taxes assessed for tax year 1994. All public easements or other public interests in the described premises for roads, sewers, or other purposes are expressly reserved. The said CITY OF BANGOR has caused this instrument to be sealed with its corporate seal, and signed in its corporate name by RONALD I.
