Theagreement was developed with the assistance of, and was recommended to the parties by a neutral state mediator. The most recent Patrol Contract expired on June 30, 1995. Major points of significance include: A three-year contract from Jay 1, 1995 to June 30, 1998; movement to the graduated payment scale for health i wage scale modifications of 08 year 1, 38 year 2 and 3t year 3; allowing parking control aides to perform certain parking control work outside of the downtown a n private servirates, recisions to pay scale stipendsforDetectives and the Canine officer and several other housekeeping modifications. The cost for funding the 1996-9] year is included in the approved Police - Department budget. The Police Patrol ratified the agreement in a vote held on January 14, 1997 and on several occasions, the City Council has had an opportunity to review progress and receive updates in Executive Session. The Agreement i ready for final Council action, and it is presented with the recommendation and support of the Management Negotiation Committee. With approval of this Order, negotiations with six of the City's nine labor unions will be completed.
