By Council Ordinance 96-385 passed on September 25, 1996, the parcel was rezoned to allow, two single family bouse lots. There are two Orders proposed which would convey the two single family lots separately (see attached map). This Order would authorize conveyance of the lot at the corner of Garland and Fruit Streets to Habitat for Humanity. The proposed single fondly homes would be privately owned and fully taxable. - The Comtmanny ad Economic Development Commeave will review the re imest at its meeting on January 22, 1997. ORDERED, TEAT WHEREAS, the City received a request from Habitat for Humanity of Cheater Burger, anonprofit organization which provides affordable homes for people who would not be able to own their home through conventional mortgage means, that the ownership of this property be numbered to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor for the purpose of constructing a single family home; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Bangor to return this property to the tax rolls of the City of Bangor; and WHEREAS, the contribution of this property is consistent with the goal of the Community Development Program to increase housing opportunities for lower income households; NOW, THEREFORE, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, BE IT ORDERED, THAT the property located on the comer of Garland and Fruit Streets, Bangor, Maine, be trarvafined to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor for the purpose of constructing a single family home; and - BE IT FURTTER ORDERED, THAT the City Manager is hereby authorized end directed to execute the documents deemed necessary or appropriate by the Legal Department to effectuate the transfer contemplated hereunder.
