Item/Subject: School Dental Program
Responsible Department: Health and Welfare
This is the renewal of the grant for the School Dental Program
offered to students in grades R - 5 in seven elementary schools
in the City of Bangor. This grant runs from 8/1/99 to 6/30/99.
The amount of the grant is $2,899. These funds are used to
educate all students and to maintain a high level of dental
health awareness, to maintain 80-85i participation rate in the
fluoride program in eligible schools and to be sure that all
low income or medicaid eligible children are aware
of the
services provided by the Bangor Children's Dental Clinic and
encourage them to take advantage of the service.

the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit and accept a
grant from the State of Maine, Department of Human Services, Bureau of
Health for $2,897 for continuation of the School Dental Program, the
grant and project are to be administered by the City of Bangor Department
of Health and Welfare..
