Responsible Department: Commentary: The City of Bangor received a K000000 grind in 1994 from USEPA m the FY 1995 Appropriations Act. The grant was specifically for sludge mavagemeat and disposal. The City subsequently negotiated a private contract with Sawyer for sludge disposal. To preserve the Sued, the City successfully petitioned Maine's Congressional delegation in change the language of the grant to allow its use for CSO projects. EPA requites Council Action that specifically inwryoates the new language "for meeting c nd meA sewer overflow requirements," replacing previous Council Action that incorporated the " sludge management and disposal"language.
