She has recently passed the Sure of Maine's Basic Cade Enforcement Ca icers exam and been certified by the State Planning OXice in legal issues and courtroom procedures. The term'land use variation" has been broadly irnerpreted by the Couto to include building, bowing and public health violations. OBOB W MT WHEREAS, 304 M.R.S.A. §4452 authorizes code enforcement officials to serve Maim: Rules of Civil Procedure, Rule 80K citations and complaints for land use violations, provided such official has been duly certified by the Maine Department of Human Services; and WHEREAS, §4452 also authorizes certified code enforcement officials to appear in the Maine District Court on behalf of their respective municipalities for the propose of prosecuting said land use violations, provided such official has been duly authorized by the municipal officers to so act; and WHEREAS, City of Bangor Environmental Health Technician Keri Sewell has successfully completed the certification requirements established by the Department of Human Services, themby demonstrating familiarity with civil court proceedings common to said Rule 80K; and WHEREAS, said Keri Sewell has been duly certified bythe.Department of Human Services, NOW, THEREFORE, By the City Council of the City of Bangor be it '1 •16 '9 r.
