Item/Subject: Immunization Program Grant Renewal -- Nursing
Responsible Department: Health and Welfare
This is the seventeenth renewal for the Imwnization Program
Grant(e). This year, for the second time, the grant(s) are
divided into two functions -- Nursing and Health educator.
This is the second year of a possible four year renewal.
The total amount of this year's grant is $68,970. Additional
funds for the program will be available through a roll over of
unexpended funds for 1996 (7 $18,00) and clinic generated revenues
($24,000).
The purpose of the program is to coordinate and facilitate child-
hood immunization for vaccine
preventable diseases/adult flu,

THAT
the city manager is authorized to apply for and accept from
the State of Maine, Department of Human Services, Bureau of Health a grant
in the amount of $68,970 for continuation of immunization services
(nursing) to be administered by the City of Bangor, Department of Health
and Welfare for the period 1/1/97 to 12/31/97.
